Finally it's the Part 5 and also the last part of my team picking guides. Thanks for staying with Fantasy Premier League Zone all the while. In this part we'll talk about strikers, and here are the responsibility of a good FPL forwards:
  1. Score a lot of goals, especially decisive ones (at least 12).
  2. Provides assists occasionally (5++).
  3. Collects a lot of bonus points (preferably 15++).
  4. Not injury-prone.
  5. Came from squad with great offensive supports.
As you can see, there a very few forwards who are able to match the above criteria last season, which leads to very low points for them.

Expensive (£9.0 onwards)
Great strikers from great teams are all in this category.

Torres (£11.5m), Rooney (£11.0m)
Please refer to Part 1.
Anelka (£10.5m), Drogba (£10.5m)
Goals will be shared between them so not really worthy I guess.
Adebayor (£10.0m)
15 goals are plausible but with Mark Hughes around it's a big doubt.
Berbatov (£10.0m)
He'll need to spare his time for Owen.
Van Persie (£10.0m)
Arsenal #1 striker currently. Worth investing.
Robinho (£9.5m)
He might end up playing as LWM... If this happens, it's very hard to predict about him.
Santa Cruz (£9.0m)
Ultimately overpriced. Say NO!

----------------------

Mid Range (£7.0-8.5m)
Still many big names here. But not guaranteed to be consistent.

Owen (£8.5m)
He need to win Berbatov first before winning any fantasy points.
Tevez (£8.5m)
I wonder why is he so cheap.
Keane (£8.5m)
To regain his great touch on ball is his mission this season.
Defoe (£8.5m), Crouch (£7.5m)
Will they work out together to squeeze Keane out of starting 11?
Agbonlahor (£8.5m)
He'll need to improve on his consistency.
Bellamy (£8.0m)
A super duper expensive reserve.
Shevchenko (£8.0m)
The dusk of his career?
Carew (£8.0m)
I think he's better than Agbonlahor, if his body is fit.
Eduardo (£8.0m)
Will he break his leg again?
Yakubu (£8.0m), Saha (£7.0m)
They seems to love their moments with doctors.
Jo (£7.5m)
Another successful loan spell?
Pavlyuchenko (£7.0m)
He should go back to Russia, seriously.
Jones (£7.0m)
If he can co-up nicely with Bent, he'll be great.
Bent (£7.0m)
Better future with Sunderland.
McCarthy (£7.0m)
I don't know how'll he be doing this season.
Voronin (£7.0m)
He can be a better wrestler than a footballer.
Heskey (£7.0m)
Old but experienced.
Cole (£7.0m)
His performance depends on West Ham's improvement.
Davies (£7.0m)
My only doubt on him is his age.

----------------------

Cheap (£6.5m and below)
I love cheap forwards.

Bendtner (£6.5m)
He'll have bigger responsibilities this season.
A Johnson (£6.5m)
I wonder if he can cope with Fulham's packed fixtures.
Beattie (£6.0m)
He's playing with a team rotating around him.
Fuller (£6.0m)
Slightly weaker than Beattie. Still, very good.
Ashton (£6.0m)
Hope that he won't miss another whole season again after 2 or 3 games.
Campbell (£6.0m)
A young gun on fire?
Macheda (£6.0m)
A great youngster.
Welbeck (£6.0m)
A good youngster.
Sturridge (£6.0m)
A youngster. Good, great or just normal?
Elmander (£6.0m)
He failed to prove himself last season.
Benjani (£6.0m)
Forget about him. He stand no chance with the current City.
Roberts (£6.0m)
Uhm... Occasional performer.
Vela (£5.5m)
He has too much of obstacles to get into first team currently.
Ebanks-Blake (£5.5m)
Very underrated in my opinion.
Doyle (£5.5m)
He had the experience at the premiership.
Di Santo (£5.5m)
Is Blackburn a place for him to prove himself?
Zamora (£5.5m)
One of the cheap starters.
Kanu (£5.5m), Nugent (£5.5m)
Portmouth's pathetic forwards.
N'gog (£5.5m)
Voronin's return makes him sad.
Benitez (£5.5m)
Luckily it's not Rafa Benitez who plays on the pitch...
Sinclair (£5.5m)
Chelsea's loanout again.
Cousin (£5.0m)
The only thing about him that caught my attention is his name.

For forwards, I prefer to spend less since only goals will give them extra points. Still, I don't mind if you spend £22-30m for the trio you picked upfront. The strategy for playing forwards is to captain those big names when they play against relegation battlers on the coming gameweek, and avoid playing them when they play against tough defenses such as Fulham, Stoke etc other than the big four.

My Top 3 Picks (Excluding Core Players in Part 1, In Order)
  1. Beattie - The Potters are saved from relegation because of him. In just half of a season he managed to grab the heart of the fans.
  2. Berbatov - With Ronaldo gone, he's the one with most accurate touch in the penalty box now.
  3. Ebanks-Blake - 25 goals in one season for a 23 year old man is a great performance, although it's achieved in a lower division league.
Other good picks: Agbonlahor, Van Persie, Adebayor, Robinho, Jo, Bent, Davies, Cole, Defoe, Carew
