Pre-Match Analysis: Gameweek 4

And here comes gameweek 4 with one heavy matchup - Man Utd vs Arsenal at Old Trafford! Now here's my prediction (improved with less junk):

Home

vs

Away

Prediction

Justification

Chelsea

vs

Burnley

2-0

No more underestimation. Burnley can't be lucky all the way.

Blackburn

vs

West Ham

2-0

The Rovers aren't that bad from their previous games. I believe they will claim at least one point from this match. Is Cole still feeling down for his wonderful “assist”?

Bolton

vs

Liverpool

0-3

A crazy bounce back from a big loss again? The scousers will be sickly in need of it.

Stoke City

vs

Sunderland

0-0

Very hard to say. Can Bent and Jones win against the golden duo of Shawcross and Faye?

Tottenham

vs

Birmingham

1-0

They shall win at their fortress and that'll make Tottenham to score 12 points out of possible 12 points.

Wolves

vs

Hull City

2-1

Wolves isn't so weak after all. I believe home advantage is the key.

Man Utd

vs

Arsenal

1-0

I am just guessing for this game. Nothing can be sure for a clash between the top four.

Portsmouth

vs

Man City

0-4

Forgive me if I'm underestimating Pompey, but I can't find any reason for them not to lose against the army of petroleum.

Everton

vs

Wigan

0-1

No Lescott, and Jagielka is still out. A good chance for Martinez.

Aston Villa

vs

Fulham

1-0

Murphy is not there. Duff will need time to fuse with the team.

My Predicted Top 5 of the Week
  1. Robinho - It might sounds silly, but finally Robinho will have the chance to perform his trademarked stepovers and possibly score goals with that.
  2. Lampard - He's set pieces is always the key to blow the underdogs.
  3. Shawcross - A clean sheet will give him at least 2 bonus points.
  4. Gerrard - He'll be full of rage and thirst for victory again...
  5. Halford - He's quite good at the moment.

Recommendations from the Pundit
  1. Baines - 30% confident. Everton's morale is deep down currently and before Jagielka recovers, I doubt if they can collect many clean sheets.
  2. Ashley Young - 50% confident. 12 points last game might boost your confidence of getting him, but this credit should go to Liverpool's flawful performance.
  3. Matt Taylor - 60% confident. He's always the heart of the team, it's just the matter of time where he'll start loading points for fantasy managers.

TEAMS OF THE WEEK

Man Utd
They bounced back at ease, with a brace from Rooney. Still, they were exposed of the problems dealing with 10-defender team again. Credits to the young gun Nani as well.
Arsenal
They just can't stop. Gallas is scoring 3 from 3, a figure much like an on form striker. Unfortunately, no goals from their striker again.
Burnley
They grabbed 6 points already, I think I should change my spectacles by now. An underestimated team.
Aston Villa
Ashley Young led his team to end Anfield's 39 matches unbeaten streak. What a beauty.

BAD TEAMS OF THE WEEK

Liverpool
Another game that shown the big impact of the absence of Xabi. 2 losses from 3 games is something you've never expect from the last season's runner-up.
Everton
Saha missed a penalty, Lescott is going to Man City... A big confidence crisis for the Blue Merseysiders.

TOP PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Rooney (13 points)
He scored the critical opener against Wigan and grabbed another one just in few minutes. An entertaining game by him.
Diaby (14 points)
Diaby stepped up for Arsenal and scored a double. Something shocking for me.
Drogba (12 points)
He grabbed 3 bonus again, something great to add to his goal and assist points. Will he back to his peak again?
Nani (11 points)
Finally he's showing something. 1 goal and 1 assist is quite a good figure by him. Get an eye on him, but don't get him before he bursts.
Bikey (9 points)
Burnley man are not cheap potatoes. He's showing something.
Altidore (4 points)
He fighting for the pride of Americans. An winning assist from limited playing time was absolutely fantastic.

BAD PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Cole (6 points)
Sorry, but even with 6 points, you can't get away with your stupid assist to Defoe.

LEADERBOARD OF THE GAMEWEEK
  1. Diaby (14)
  2. Rooney (13)
  3. Jones (13)
  4. Drogba (12)
  5. A Young (12)
LEADERBOARD OF THE SEASON

3. Shawcross, Johnson, Fabregas, Rooney (23)
