Poll of the Fortnight: Which Top Four Club Is Going To Be The First To Drop Out Of The Title Race?

Well, actually this is quite a useless poll as the census was easily there without the poll: Liverpool should be the first club to drop out of the title race.

Hell ya, followed up by the victory against Man Utd, at least they aren't getting out of the spotlight so fast.

Liverpool stood high up on this poll with 68 votes out of a total of 94 voters. Following them are their arch-rival Manchester United (13 votes), Arsenal (9 votes) and their rival of this century Chelsea (4 votes).

Coincidently, my prediction of league rankings this season come out to be tally as the results of this poll as well (CHE 1st, ARS 2nd, MU 3rd and LIV 4th). How about you?

Poll of the Fortnight: Which Part of Your Fantasy Lineup Will You Spend The Most Money On?

As you can see, EPL this season is nothing other than attack, attack and attack. So the poll results had been heavily altered by this factor.

If it was years before, I bet fantasy managers will spend the money evenly between all their lines, but this year, the case is different.

Expensive strikers are craved the most by our fellow voters with 20 votes! I had not surprised if many managers land in Torres, Drogba and Rooney trio in their team.

The next is midfielders with 19 votes. Despite the poor performance of fantasy midfielders, many managers still put their trust on them.

6 people voted that they spare the money evenly. Quite rational for the years before, but this year I think its not the case. Why should you spend so much money on defenders and keepers when they hardly get any clean sheet?

Defenders, goalkeepers and random sparing of money get 1 vote respectively, which is very reasonable for this crazy season.

The trend may change as the season goes on, lets see if there are any more surprises that EPL may give!

Poll of the Fortnight: How Many Will Golden Boot Score This Season?

It's the time to analyse another poll of the fortnight. In this week, as you can see, the topic is: how many will golden boot score this season?

38% voted that it'll be around 26-30 goals. For this season, this benchmark should be a easy one to pass due to the attacking fever of EPL. As you can see, there's already more than 3 goals per game for consecutive 3 gameweeks.

Followed up closely is the vote for 21-25 goals (32%). I think this is mostly due to last season's embarrassing golden boot record of 19 goals (Nicholas Anelka) which led to pessimistic view of the particular respondents. However, this season won't be the same, trust me. =)

Next is 31-35 goals (18%). While this figure is quite high, I still think that it's plausible for the likes like Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba, as long as they're free from major injuries.

6% of the respondents voted for more than 35 goals this season! This figure is insanely high I can see. Unless Torres is fit for all 38 games and has awesome performances like what he did currently (an average of more than one goal per game), otherwise, nah. Only Torres is capable for that don't you think? Drogba and rooney, in my opinion, should score less than him due to double role of shoot and assist.

Finally, 4% of our fellow voters voted that it'll be less than 21 goals. Come on guys, how can this be possible? Torres already scored 8 in 7 games, while both Rooney, Bent and Drogba each has 6 in the pocket! If you project it to the end of the season, by such form, even scoring 40 is possible.

What say you?

Poll of the Fortnight: How Many Home Wins Will Man Utd Get This Season?

Good day everyone. Here's the result of our 3rd poll of the season.

How many home wins will Man Utd get this season?

Surprisingly, perfect 19 got the first place with 32 votes (47%). There are several reasons I suggest:
  1. There're one or two pro-MU fans spamming their votes here;
  2. Non-MU fans don't have time to vote;
  3. Most of my readers are MU fans!
Which in my opinion, in any case, not any single club in this world could ever get a perfect home win in any season. So the result is really ridiculous.

Followed next is more than 15 wins this season (29%). This might be logical, considering Man Utd's good record at their Dream Theatre. Nevertheless, until now they got 100% home win record.

11 respondents voted for 10-15 wins, and I believed the Red Devil's home wins will be at this range as well. A more precise prediction for me will be 13-14 wins.

Still, they're 5 people who voted for less than 10 wins and the probability for this in my opinion is really too small. Sorry to anti-Devil fans as this is almost equal to impossible.

So do you agree with me?

Can he take the challenge for perfect home wins?

Poll of the Fortnight: Who'll Be the First Manager to be Sacked?

Sorry guys as I didn't post up any topic of the fortnight as promised, as I was quite busy days before. Now here's episode 2 of poll of the fortnight: the first ever manager to be sacked this season?

In this poll, Portsmouth manager Paul Hart is the leader with 23 votes (or 47%). This is quite reasonable since the Pompey are having a extremely tough moments under him - 4 losses from 4 games. I believe by the end of September, if Paul Hart can't lead his team to their first victory, he'll be sacked.

On the second position is Manchester City's manager Mark Hughes (17 votes or 35%). While everyone is suspecting his ability to lead a team full of big names, Hughes led his team to 3 consecutive wins - although all of them won by only small margin. His next two games against Arsenal and Man Utd are the crucial ones - if he can do a great result at both games, he'll be safe.

And the third place stands the one who most people hate: Phil Brown from Hull City. He got only 10% of votes but that doesn't mean that he's safe from being fired. But thanks to Hull City fine display (certainly not bad), he's still safe at the moment.

Meanwhile Roberto Martinez (2 votes) is having a hard time following Wigan's third consecutive defeats. His low figure of votes is indeed in contrast with his current dangerous position. And Alex McLeish surprisingly got null votes from our fellow respondents. He's just not famous so nobody votes him don't you think?

There're two votes who voted for others - is it Rafa Benitez who lost 2 games from 4, or Moyes who only managed to help Everton to pick 3 points out of 3 games? Or Bolton's Megson who yet to lead his team to first league victory of the season?

Poll of the Fortnight: Who'll Be The Top Pointer For 09/10 Season?

Hi guys, on every week I'll post a poll result and a discussion topic alternately, and I'll begin with poll of the fortnight first.

Since the opening of this blog there's a poll on the sidebar in which you can vote for the top pointer for 09/10 season. And the results are as follows:

Andriy Arshavin (29%, 32 votes)
I wasn't surprised for this. Arshavin led for most of the time in my poll by a significant amount of difference with runner-ups. In fact I think everyone is impressed with his superb 4 shots 4 goals performance at Anfield. His power is proven, but with Fabregas good fitness condition currently, will his portion of performance shared with Cesc?

Frank Lampard (27%, 30 votes)
As a CAM in the diamond midfield formation of Ancelotti this season, most of us expect him to contribute more in offense, which led to his position of first runner-up in my poll. I've never doubt for his attacking prowess, but with today's Drogba's spectacular performance, will his glow be covered up by Didier?

Steven Gerrard (21%, 23 votes)
Stevie G is always the great collector of fantasy points, but he might be slightly demoted this season. With the spectacular performance of Lucas currently and the ex-Roma ace Aquilani who can run between the lines, the shared burden of Gerrard might proved to reduce his fantasy points as well, which makes the result sounds logic.

Wayne Rooney (10%, 11 votes)
A lot of people hold their view on Rooney. While he's the team ace now, he's not the type who is able to score 25-30 goals per season. He's much more like a striker who draws attention and helps his teammates to score by his great runs. A top three for him is reasonable for me, but the top 1? Still long way to go.

Fernando Torres (8%, 9 votes)
Due to existence of Steven Gerrard, the casting of vote towards him are pitily low. Basically Gerrard's form will be always better than him and also since Gerrard scores 5 points for every goal compared to Torres' 4, favour will always go to Gerrard. Better luck for this season.

Others (2%, 3 votes)
While the above 5 will always be the hot pick for this year, there's still people voting for other potential man. Well, I don't know where did the 3 votes go to, maybe Droga, Adebayor or whoever, but miracle does exist. So lets just wait and see.

So what say you?
